The Best New Kids on the Block Songs

Here’s the thing: despite how much I love them right now, I was never the biggest NKOTB fan. Probably because I was born in 1983 and they hit their peak popularity in 1988 when Hangin’ Tough came out. I was five at that time. Not so much into pop music. But as I got a little older, my friend introduced me to them and soon I was playing their tapes over and over. Back in the late eighties and early nineties, being a boy band fan meant something entirely different than it does today. You pretty much read the teeny bopper magazines and were lucky to catch them on TV at some point. There was no social media detailing their every mood and dropping new songs right away.

If only NKOTB had come along about ten years later, when I really fell hard for boy bands. But alas, they didn’t. Still, I never stopped loving their songs and I even enjoy some of their newer stuff. So, without further ado, and in no particular order, here is my list of the best New Kids on the Block songs.

Dirty Dancing

You’ve Got It (The Right Stuff)

Boys in the Band (Boy Band Anthem)

Step by Step

One More Night

Tonight

Hangin’ Tough

The Way

Remix (I Like The)

Since the “boys” are still making music, I’m sure they’ll come out with a lot more great stuff in the future, and I’ll probably be adding to this list!

Also, I just realized this month is the two year anniversary of me starting this blog. Very cool! I hope it continues for years to come (though I know the odds of that are low as blogs are slowly going the way of many social media trends aka dying).
